Pirates!

Saterday the seventh of october 2006 Gerben, Pablo and I accompanied a theatersports game between ‘Totdat de Dom Valt’ (Utrecht, Netherlands) and ‘TarTrek’ (Haarlem, Netherlands) on our musical instruments: trumpet, drums and keys. It was our job to play a potpourri of solemn, easy listening, loud and attractive eclectic music during the improvised scenes. The theme of the game was Pirates. We were asked to adapt our songs and wallpaper music to this theme and therefore we played tunes like ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘Drunken Sailor’, and made sea shore, gull and roaring sounds. Nice to do! In the musical scenes the audience ‘forced’ us to play hard rock, reggea and soul music. The theatersports players of ‘TarTrek’ took these suggestions up very well. The players of ‘Totdat de Dom Valt’ asked us to play delicant songs. We provided simple chord progressions and rhythms and they sang delicious part-songs on top of it. The game was great and we enjoyed playing. I can't wait accompanying the 'sportsmen' during the next game of theatresports! Click here for an impression of the game.
