Expressionism

Friday the sixth of January we went to the Van Gogh Museum to see the exhibition 'Vincent van Gogh and Expressionism'. Some years ago in Berlin, I saw beautifull paintings in the Bruecke Museum. And since, I've been interested in work of the Bruecke movement. Therefore for me it was very inspiring to see the exhibition at the Van Gogh Museum, where work of the expressionist Bruecke movement was compared to work of Vincent van Gogh. Especially work of Kirchner and Pechstein was prominent. And of course, the paintings of Van Gogh who inspired painters of the Bruecke and also other experessionist movements like Der Blaue Reiter, were magnificent. Although not big, the exhibition was worthwhile seeing and I recommend it to everyone who likes the work of expressionist painters and Van Gogh.
